    • 1. What services does Eagle Endodontics offer?

At Eagle Endodontics, we specialize in a variety of endodontic services to address issues related to the inside of your teeth. Our services include root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, apicoectomy (surgical root canal treatment), treatment of traumatic dental injuries, and management of cracked teeth. • 2. What is a root canal, and why might I need one?

A root canal is a dental procedure used to treat infection or damage within the tooth's pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels). You might need a root canal if you have a deep cavity, a cracked or chipped tooth, or an injury to the tooth that has caused the pulp to become infected or inflamed. Symptoms indicating the need for a root canal include severe toothache, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, discoloration of the tooth, and swelling or tenderness in the nearby gums.

    • 3. What can I expect during and after a root canal procedure?

During the root canal procedure, you will receive local anesthesia to ensure you are comfortable and pain-free. You may feel slight pressure or vibration, but you should not feel pain. After the procedure, it is normal to experience some mild discomfort or sensitivity in the treated area for a few days, which can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Our team will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to promote healing. Most patients can return to their normal activities the next day.

    • 4. What is endodontic retreatment, and when is it necessary?

Endodontic retreatment involves redoing a previous root canal procedure that did not heal properly or has developed new problems. It may be necessary if the initial treatment did not completely eliminate the infection, if new decay has formed, or if a tooth has sustained a new injury. During retreatment, our endodontist will remove the existing filling material, clean and disinfect the canals, and then refill and seal them. Retreatment can save a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted.

    • 5. What is an apicoectomy, and why might I need one?

An apicoectomy, also known as endodontic surgery or root-end surgery, is a procedure used to remove the tip of the tooth's root and surrounding infected tissue. This surgery is typically recommended when a root canal treatment alone is not sufficient to save the tooth, often due to persistent infection or inflammation at the root tip. During the procedure, the gum tissue near the tooth is gently lifted to expose the underlying bone and root, and the infected tissue and root tip are removed. The end of the root canal is then sealed with a small filling.
